30 Days of Fire – Day 5

Fire Element Provides Energy

The element of Fire is filled with energy.  Without energy you might find it hard to focus, be creative or achieve the change you are working on.  Cultivating the element of fire includes building that fire in your belly that keeps you going.

When energy is flowing it actually can help you keep a clear mind and have the fortitude to see things with a new light.  So instead of reaching for an energy shot, try out these simple ways to boost your energy and build the energetic gift of the fire element.

  1. Get Moving.  Make sure include physical activity each day. Studies show that in as little as 10 minutes of physical activity your energy will be revved up.
  2. Get Happy.  Did you know a good laugh can get you pumped up when you’re feeling sluggish?  Laughter is a proven stress buster and has been shown to boost your heart rate and safely raise your blood pressure.
  3. Let the Sun In.  Environmental cues such as getting a little sunlight play a huge role in our body’s energy.  So open your curtains or go outside for a short walk to build your vitamin D and feel more alive.
  4. Yawn.  According to research yawning is your body’s way of cooling down the brain and waking it up.
  5. Stretch.  Reach for the sky and gently arch your back.  This type of stretch stimulates the sympathetic nervous system and energizing for the body and mind. Studies show that a little yoga could fight depression and anxiety.
  6. Eat chocolate.  Even though chocolate does have some caffeine the Flavonoids found in cocoa have been shown to boost cognitive skills and improve mood.
  7. Sing.  Singing requires breath control.  So when you sing to the radio out loud while driving you get plenty of extra oxygen pumping and feel energized.
  8. Add a Little Color.  Surround yourself with red.  Studies have shown the color red is associated with winning and self-confidence.  Try looking at or wearing some red or violet hues to feel more awake.

30 Days of Fire – Day 4

Element of Fire

If you haven’t guessed by now Fire is the element of change and transformation.  Fire both creates and destroys.  There is no way about it- when fire is hot- it is honest, righteous and passionate about truth.  Fire creates new possibility and is the element of inspiration, creativity and the catalyst for transformation.  Fire doesn’t burn its self out, rather it may be smoldering in the background gaining energy to go head first into life’s next adventure.  Those who have had ample fire as a child become self-conscious as they have seen where they have burned people or felt the sting of being a forgotten star.

Evolved fire pays attention to what has heart and meaning.  As fire matures, it knows how not to burn everything in its path but rather to walk with courage into the flames with an open heart and faith knowing what is next is perfect and meant to be.  Fire people have a love for life and know that rage and anger used proactively with consciousness is the catalyst for transformational change.
