30 Days of Fire – Day Three

Programming and Reprogramming Our Brain

In life, our personality evolves and gradually becomes the instrument for our soul.  Our brain and psyche have developed an automatic process to organize and create meaning.    Each experience you have becomes how you see your world and tell your life story.

When you start each new day, your personal experiences from the past become the information that is used to create the assumptions, conclusions and beliefs that drive the actions you take to make your world manageable.

An well know Neuroscience explained it this way, “If you are trying to create a new future, but you do not address the emotions that are keeping you anchored to the past, change is stalled.  Those emotions have been conditioned in your body.   Meaning the moment you turn back into your life you will begin to physiologically, autonomically, automatically return back to old yourself no matter how hard and focused you are on change because you are using the people and conditions of your past to confirm and remind you of who you are.”  Imagine how your world could evolve if you were not anchored in your old stories and habitual habits!

The challenge is all of this is going on without much effort.  It is life on autopilot.  It is the subconscious and unconscious at work.   Just think . . . do you remember the cars and people you pass each day on your way to work?  Do you ever show up some place and really have no memory of the route you took to get there?   That is our amazing brain.  Malcolm Gladwell calls this “thinking without thinking.”

But imagine what might happen if you took a little time out throughout the day to simply recall, reflect and determine if you are acting in the moment based on past experiences or if your reaction and choices are in real time – in the moment – based on the future your heart and soul are longing for.

This concept is the foundation for our 30-Day Series for each of the Elements.  Over the next 30 days, our daily emails will include information, activities, meditations and task aimed at building capacity and comfort with the element of Fire.

Today’s Question to Ponder:
Grab your favorite journal, big piece of paper and crayons or pal to ponder . . .

What if you could make your life exactly how you would choose?

What would you hope for? What would you imagine you would want to have?

All of us have places in are life that are not completely fulfilling.  Maybe you have been contemplating a new job – how come?

Perhaps you have a relationship that is not completely satisfying – what is missing?

Maybe when you look in the mirror your body is a little out of shape.    Possibly you wish your financial situation felt a little more secure.  These situations might be what keeps you awake at night taking away the contentment you are yearning.

Today, when you ponder the questions above, erase any blame, shame or doubt and just think about what you would change and how that change would feel and show up in your life.

Be sure to report back and share your thoughts on Facebook.

Summer Solstice

Today is the day in the Northern Hemisphere where summer begins as the Sun has reached its farthest point north of the equator.  Summer Solstice is the longest day and shortest night of the year.  The hours of sunlight begin to decrease from this day forward.

The Summer Solstice is celebrated in many traditions and has a deep spiritual significance.  This is time to celebrate the bounty fueled by life-giving solar rays.  It’s also marked as the time to explore passion and desire.  It is a prefect time to let the sun in and cultivate the element of fire in your life.

To kick off Four Elements 30 Day’s of Fire we start by looking at each of the elements and embrace the unique way they flow in each of us.  The elements of Water, Earth, Air and Fire create the fabric of how we experience and see the world.

This meditation offered and designed to enhance your ability to dive deeper into the lessons offered through the element.  As we enter this practice we begin with the simple creative mission of knowing we are each a spiritual being here on earth.

You are worthy.
You are divine.
You are wanted here and you are most definitely not a mistake.
You have your own unique gifts that you need to share with this world.

Read the meditation a few times and then allow yourself time to let the words take life in you minds eye by silently sitting with a gently breath.

Welcome to 30 days of Earth by Four Elements Astrology!

Over the next 30 days you will receive a daily email with a link to this blog.  We encourage you to share your thoughts and reflections with others participating in this practice on our facebook page.

Day One

Today is the day when night and day is in balance.   It is a day to reflect and embrace the yin and yang.    Balance is about the challenges and blessings, the good and the bad, the dark and the light.   One does not exist without the other.   The ebb and flow of life is alive when we are able to hold a compassionate heart to all that life has to offer.

Balance is a place of neutrality where there is no judgment or  an inner critic.  It is where grace, humility and compassion flourish.   As we enter this 30-day practice we begin with the simple creative mission of knowing we are each a spiritual being here on earth.  You are worthy. You are divine. You are wanted here and you are most definitely not a mistake. You have your own unique gifts that you need to share with this world.

Each of the meditations offered are designed to enhance your ability to dive deeper into the lessons offered through the element of Earth.  Read the meditation a few times and then allow yourself time to let the words take life in you minds eye by silently sitting with a gently breath.
